Wash the cladding

At least once a year wash down the cladding with water. Do not use a water blaster. Pay special attention to areas that do not get regular rain washing.

Use a mild detergent to remove remaining dirt. Do not use harsh chemicals or anything abrasive.

Non-water-soluble dirt such as tar, oil, or paint may need to be removed with a solvent applied with a soft cotton cloth. Do not use acetone or paint removers.

At least once a year, check the cladding to ensure there are no dents, scratches, or other damage. Check that weatherboards are aligned; secure; and that the corner, joint junction, and widow flashings have not moved from their internal interlocking component.
